Facts
WHICH MATERIAL SHOULD I CHOOSE?
When choosing rings, it is wise not only to look at pictures and point out the ring you like best, the material makes a big difference. Different metals and materials can withstand wear and tear differently. Some need maintenance from time to time; others may not suit your lifestyle and your work. The point is to be able to use the rings every day.
Remember that some materials are impossible to resize
Ceramic rings, black zirconium, carbon fibre rings, steel and titanium rings with diamonds or cubic zirconia are impossible to resize.
You can change the size of gold rings, but in the case you need to change many sizes up or down, you may need to reengrave the ring.
Material and price – Big difference is to expect
There are beautiful rings to choose from regardless of the material you decide to buy. Platinum and gold are always the most expensive alternatives. But they are also metals that have great value as raw material. Silver also has its price as a raw material but does not pay to sell in small quantities.
Start with a spending plan
You may know what you want your ring to look like, but have you also decided how much it may cost? It’s frustrating to look at rings you can’t afford, so a budget can make your search much more inspiring. We have wedding and engagement rings that will amaze you, and the most expensive is not always the one that will catch your eye.
❊ Platinum 950 – Exclusive and expensive! ❊
Platinum is the most exclusive precious metal to create jewellery. If you want the very best, you should choose platinum. Platinum weighs more than gold and gives the rings a very exclusive feeling. Platinum rings have a beautiful and pure white colour, and they are incredibly durable. Platinum is also 100 per cent allergy-free. Platinum rings last a lifetime, and if you want the very best, it is the choice. But platinum is also the most expensive choice.

ADVANTAGES
- Platinum is very durable and more resistant than gold.
- It is the heaviest of all precious metals.
- Allergy-free.
- Much more rare than gold.
DISADVANTAGES
There are no disadvantages to choosing platinum. Of course, scratches and marks can occur over time, even though the metal is very hard.
❊ Yellow gold – Classic and precious! ❊
Yellow gold is durable and beautiful. In Europe, 18K gold is the most common. There are 18 parts of pure gold mixed with other metals such as brass, silver and copper. It is also common to make jewellery with 14K gold.

ADVANTAGES
- Classically and historically the most popular metal.
- Requires almost no maintenance.
DISADVANTAGES
A yellow gold ring is softer than those made of other metals, which means that you can lose a diamond if the gold is deformed. Yellow gold can get marks and scratches.
❊ White gold – Timeless and elegant! ❊
White gold is a mixture of yellow gold with at least one more white metal, usually palladium, silver or platinum. The jewellery pieces are plated with rhodium to enhance the colour of the white gold. Rhodium is a shiny white metal that is incredibly durable. White gold is the most popular jewellery metal and makes beautiful gold rings.

ADVANTAGES
- Cheaper than platinum.
- White gold is alloyed with hard metals and is less sensitive to scratches than yellow gold.
- White gold is the perfect match for diamonds.

The only disadvantage of white gold is that the ring must be treated after some years to maintain its white colour and lustre. To rhodium plate, a gold ring is not particularly expensive.
❊ Red gold and Rosé gold – Trendy and romantic! ❊
Red and rosé gold are both beautiful, but it tends to be more trendy in some periods than others. There is no such thing as pure red gold or pure rosé gold. Red gold is an alloy of yellow gold with copper, and pink or rosé gold is an alloy of yellow gold, copper and a small amount of silver.

❊ Carbon fibre rings – Unique, trendy & luxurious design rings! ❊
Are you looking for something exclusive and different? Carbon fibre is the perfect material to make rings. Carbon fibre is very light but still incredibly durable. Carbon fibre is four times stronger than steel, which means that the carbon fibre rings will withstand most things. With carbon fibre, we create luxurious rings with unique and different surfaces and different designs. There are two forms of pure carbon, one is deep black, and one is pure white. We combine carbon fibre with precious metals such as titanium, Damascus steel, rose gold and yellow gold. Our unique carbon fibre rings are so different from the crowd. Carbon fibre rings are cheaper than gold rings, even though they are much more durable, exclusive and trendy.

Although stainless steel is extraordinarily durable, it is a very light metal. Expect that stainless steel rings can almost feel as light as a feather on your finger. However, diamonds or cubic zirconia can add a little extra weight to the steel rings. Steel and gold combine perfectly. We have beautiful rings that combine both stainless steel with yellow and rose gold and diamonds. These are very affordable alternatives to the bands made entirely of gold.

Silver is timeless and has never gone out of style. Rings of Sweden silver rings are sterling silver 925/1000. That is the purest jewellery silver composition you can get. Our sterling silver rings are treated with rhodium, just like our rings in white gold, to get a more durable surface and become extra white and shiny.
